“What an amazing pink Christmas tree!” you’re probably saying to yourself, “Look at how bright it is! Only a very strong and brave person could handle such a powerful tree. It’s like having the sun in your living room! And decorating it in lights and glass bulbs! I tremble at the thought of such a person! Who could this person be?!”

It would be me… sure, my family helped some, you know, setting it up, decorating it. The safe stuff. Me? I grabbed danger by the throat and put it in a choke hold: I plugged the tree in.

Sorry ladies, I’m taken.

The other day, my son was playing with a potato. I asked him about it and he called it “Putt-Putt”. After he went to bed, I took a picture of it.

This was a throw away doodle I did recently but the more I look at it the more metaphorical it seems. I’m sure what it’s saying but I can guarantee you that it’s lame.

Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to email me and offer suggestions on how to curb the influx of spam comments to this blog. I’m happy to report that I’ve set up the Akismet plugin and it has worked like a charm, just like everyone said it would.

Also I’m happy to report that work (both the day job and freelance) is beginning to slow down as projects wrap up. I still have a few more weeks of work before things are officially in the bag, but compared to recent months my currently workload seems like a vacation. I’m looking forward to taking some time off, relaxing, and working on personal projects… and fixing this blog after my Wordpress upgrade crapped it up.

And a big thank you to Yay! Monday for featuring my website in their current issue. You’re nice.

This pretty much sums up my day today.

Dear NFL,

Did I do something to upset you? Earlier today the New England Patriots and the New York Giants advanced to the Super Bowl. Excuse me for being so blunt, but, based on outcome of today’s playoff games, it almost feels like you’re mad at me. If I have done anything to offend you, I apologize whole heartedly.
This is a new year NFL so why don’t we sit down and talk our problems out. Sure, Super Bowl XLII will be an absolute train wreck of a disaster, but let’s not focus on the negative. Let’s stay positive and hope for a better playoff outcome in ‘09.

So how was your weekend? Good? That’s fantastic. What? How was mine, you ask? Oh, it was pretty good. I didn’t do much. Slept, sat, ate… met Mo Willems. It’s true. This picture is proof. Mo is on the left. I am behind the guy with the fat head on the right. Mo was kind enough to let my wife, kiddo, and me hang out with him for a little while during a rare break in his busy schedule. It was fantastic! If you’re a fan of Mo too, maybe you’d like this interview that I did with him a while back.
